PADI RESCUE DIVER COURSE

The PADI Rescue Diver course will take your diving to a completely new level. It is a must for all recreational divers to aspire to.

The Rescue diver course will develop your dive skills and make you more aware of problems that can arise and give you the skills to manage them.

It follows the pholosophy that there is no single right way to perform a rescue and candidates need to be resourceful and adaptable to meet the requirements and demands placed upon them.

The Rescue Diver course with SMG Scuba has 3 sections:

Theory: Candidates independently study the Rescue diver manual and complete 5 knowledge sections which are each split into 4 categories: Psychology of rescue, Being prepared for diver emergencies, Accident management and Rsponding to diver emergencies. A Rescue course DVD accompanies the knowledge development section and candidates must complete a final exam.

Pool: We beleive that in order to develop Rescue techniques it is essential that candidates practice in a Confined water environment before Open water training. The pool session covers many of the Rescue skills that will be again practiced in the Open water environment to increase performance and confidence.

Open Water training:

A whole weekend is devoted to further developing the Rescue Diver candidate. After skills training in Open Water, a variety of realistic scenarios designed to challenge the candidates and an oportinuty to put all the aquired Rescue skills in to practice.
