Emergency First Response

The Emergency First Response course follows protocolsdeveloped by ILCOR (International Liaison committee on Resuscitation) Organisations who contribute  to developing content and guidelines for the material include the European Resuscitation Council.

 

 

 

 

Suported by state of the art materials, the EFR course introduces students to primary care and secondary care skills while following the "cycle of care" as a guide. This is a practical based course recognising that practice improves performance and therfore confidence to make a difference in an emergency situation.

 

Practical training is consolidated with scenarios at the end of the course to give participants the opportunity to put into practice all the skills learnt in a series of lifelike emergency situations

 

The EFR course is divided into 2 sections:

 

EFR Primary care CPR

  • Scene assessment
  • barrier use
  • Primary assessment
  • CPR-Chest compressions
  • CPR-Chestcompressions combined with rescue breathing
  • Serious bleeding management
  • Shock management
  • Spinal Injury management
  • Conscious/unconscious choking adult

Additional skills

  • Automated External Defibrillator use (AED)
  • Emergency Oxygen use

EFR Secondary care (First Aid)

 

  • Injury assessment
  • Illness assessment
  • Bandaging
  • Splinting for dislocations and fractures

 

Age any age with the capacity to perform the skills (12+ as a guide)

Duration 1 day/ 2 evenings (about 6 to 7 hours depending on group size)

Cost £70 inclusive of materials(EFR participant manual and barrierv key ring) and certification

EFR course training

First Aid Introduction

This introduction to First Aid course is designed as a course for groups wishing to have an introduction to First aid who may be restricted to time and funds. This course introduces participants to techniques that can safe a life.

 

The course covers:

 

  • Scene Assessment
  • Self protection
  • patient assessment (primary bassessment)
  • recovery position (unconscius breathing patient)
  • Chest compressions
  • Chest compressions with ventilations
  • Choking
  • Scenarios

Age any age with the capacity to perform the skills (10+ as a guide)

Duration 2 hours

Cost £15 (includes an attendence certificate)

 

NB. There is no formal certification on completeion of this course
